The VialCase Cartridge Purge Canister stores your 3 mL pen cartridges standing upright, crimp end up, around a center purge post - then the screw lid closes it all up for the fridge door or your bag. A faceted 12-sided body with a stepped-ring lid: it stands steady, grips easily and looks good on the counter.
Key Features
- 6, 8 or 12 cartridge wells in a ring, each 12.6 mm (0.50″) wide and 15 mm deep - the cartridges can't tip or rattle
- Center purge post: press a cartridge down over it to push the air out (see How the purge post works)
- Screw-on lid with deep 45° threads - two turns and it's shut; keeps light off your cartridges
- Faceted body + V-groove belt: easy to grip and open with wet or cold fingers
- One more slot than the usual 7-slot and 4 + purge canisters

What Fits
- Cartridges: standard 3 mL glass pen cartridges (11.6 mm × 64 mm) - the lid clears a 64 mm cartridge by 3 mm
- Purge post: 8.6 mm wide, 40 mm tall, fits inside the 9.7 mm bore of a 3 mL cartridge
How the purge post works
- With a needle through the cartridge's top seal (crimp end up), set the open end of the cartridge on the post
- Press the cartridge straight down - the post pushes the rubber stopper up and the air out through the top
- Stop when the liquid reaches the top, then lift the cartridge off
The post is 8.6 mm (0.34″) wide and 40 mm (1.57″) tall - about one full 3 mL stopper stroke, so it can't push the stopper into the neck of the cartridge.
