Product Care & Use

Last Updated: January 12, 2026

Vial Case products are designed for specific use cases and are manufactured using 3D-printed materials, including PLA. Proper care and use are essential to ensure product longevity and performance.

Please review the information below before using your case.

1. Intended Use

Vial Case products are intended for:

  • Storage and transport of vials that meet the exact dimensions listed on the product page

  • Normal handling under typical indoor conditions

Products are not designed for:

  • Impact protection

  • Exposure to high heat

  • Use with oversized or incompatible vials or caps

  • Industrial, automotive, or extreme environments

2. Measurement & Fit Responsibility

Customers are responsible for ensuring that:

  • Vials, caps, and components meet the exact dimensions stated on the product listing

  • Measurements are taken accurately before purchase

  • Vials are inserted and removed gently and are not forced into the case

Using vials or caps that exceed the stated dimensions, or forcing items into the case, may result in cracking or damage and is considered misuse.

3. Material Characteristics (PLA)

Vial Case products made from PLA and other 3D-printed materials:

  • Are not impact-resistant

  • Are not heat-resistant

  • Are more brittle than injection-molded plastics

  • May crack or deform under stress, pressure, or improper handling

These characteristics are inherent to the material and are not defects.

4. Temperature Exposure Guidance (Very Important)

PLA has a relatively low heat tolerance compared to many other plastics and can soften or deform when exposed to elevated temperatures.

Heat Exposure (Not Allowed)

Do not expose cases to heat, including but not limited to:

  • Hot cars or enclosed vehicles

  • Direct sunlight for extended periods

  • Dishwashers or hot water

  • Ovens, heaters, or appliances

  • Industrial or laboratory heat sources

Heat damage is permanent and not covered by warranty.

Cold Storage (Permitted)

Refrigerator and freezer storage is acceptable for PLA cases under normal conditions.

However:

  • PLA may become more brittle when cold

  • Avoid impacts, drops, or forcing items while cold

  • Allow the case to return to room temperature before applying force or inserting/removing tightly fitted items

Damage caused by impact, force, or misuse while cold is not covered by warranty.

5. Handling & Storage Guidelines

To help extend the life of your case:

  • Store at room temperature when not in use

  • Keep away from direct sunlight

  • Insert and remove vials gently

  • Avoid dropping, crushing, or overloading the case

  • Do not stack heavy objects on top of the case

6. Vial & Cap Compatibility

Vial caps and closures vary by manufacturer.

Damage caused by:

  • Oversized caps

  • Sharp edges

  • Non-standard vial designs

  • Manufacturer tolerance differences

is not covered by warranty.

Always verify compatibility before use.

7. Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean using a soft, dry, or lightly damp cloth

  • Do not use dishwashers

  • Do not soak in hot water

  • Avoid harsh chemicals or solvents

Improper cleaning methods may weaken or damage the material.

8. Relationship to Warranty

Failure to follow the guidance on this page may:

  • Void warranty eligibility

  • Result in damage not covered by the Case Warranty

This Product Care & Use page supplements, but does not replace, our Case Warranty and other published policies.
